Glenni, The speed of email and the convenience means we can keep in touch much more closely than ever before and yet, as you say, people only seem to forward jokes and not write long and interesting letters about the events in their lives. Handwritten letters seem so slow now, but in some ways they are to be missed. There is nothing better than a crisp, new sheet of paper and a pen ready in hand. And a letter can be folded into a book, put under a pillow, pasted in a scrapbook, held onto for when memory no longer serves. A letter is a little bit of the sender. Yes, I wish I got more letters.
