I don't like to disagree with you, Ned, but there really are some lovely and intriguing lines in the poem. What about "We have no peace in us today/ the sea and I", or "I echo their unsatisfied cries" or "I launch my soul in a bottle/with a grain of salt/and a grain of sand". There's more than a little to think about here, if you ask me, and it all adds to the quality of the poem.
