Thank you Ken. I am glad you noticed the last line, and the last word. I think Amy suddenly realizes Miss Hammond was alive all the years she thought she was dead, but this time, older and more nostalgic for the past, Amy experiences her death with more regrets than she did years ago when she consigned Miss Hammond to the "rest in peace" file in her head. Maybe the first time Amy thought she was dead, she was still unable to appreciate what she learned from her, perhaps that is why she is dead again, because this time, for a few moments, Amy brought her to life in her thoughts in ways she never lived in her thoughts before. And then she was dead, again. I am glad you liked the story.
