Brilliant. Though I knew where the story was going, it was like listening to the history of a friend. I wanted every detail the way that she drank in the details of Ms. Hammond's life from the room with the piano. I had no care to look at the words or the structure--there was an important story being told. It was just me and the meaning. Wonderful.
