It was their first date. Theirs was a Story Untold. She had
primped and fussed, put on her best Chantilly Lace and waited In The
Still of the Night for him to arrive. Then finally, there he was:
Jim Dandy. It was a Magic Moment.
"Little Darlin, Come Go With Me", he said, his arm extended.
Peggy Sue took his hand. She was hoping he wasn't like the others she
had dated. Johnny B. Goode? He wouldn't. Charlie
Brown? Well, he was just a clown.
Jim Dandy was sweet. After a movie he took her for ice cream -
her favorite flavor, Tutti-Frutti. They went dancing At The Hop.
He was the object of every girl's attention but he held her close and
whispered "I Only Have Eyes for You". She knew then, she loved him
Sincerely.
He drove her home in his Little Deuce Coupe. It must have been
The Time of the Season, because it was a Rainy Night in Georgia
and there was a Bad Moon Rising. But he said "Don't Worry Baby, I Can
See for Miles and Miles".
He took her home and walked her to the door.
"Oh, Pretty Woman" he said. "They call me The Wanderer and I was
Born to Be Wild but you make me want to change my ways. Who
knows why? Why Do Fools Fall in Love?" He kissed her
passionately and whispered "Let's Spend the Night Together".
She whispered back "Love Me Tender" and fell into his arms.
"But", she looked at him with eyes that pleaded Don't Be Cruel and
asked him the question her heart needed answered. "Will You Still
Love Me Tomorrow?"
"Baby", he said. "Do You Believe in Magic? Wild Thing, for me there is Only You".

The good news is that when the grid went down that darkened the northeast, MA had its own power source and the lights burned on and on.
As long as I can see the light... Re: Unchained Melody

I sit here in Shirley, MA wondering if you've stumbled up the collection of 45s that my brothers bequeathed me when they outgrew them. What fun this post is. I hope you had as much fun writing it as I did reading it.
Inside each reference there was a little memory. Thank you for that. smiles, liz Re: Re: Unchained Melody

You have vinyl and 45s no less? How marvelous. I lost touch with my records for good the last time I ran away from home. Hang onto them Liz, they will be worth a lot one day, although I know that they are worth a lot to you right now.

Sounds like he made her feel like a natural woman. But really Ned, what's love got to do with it. Live and let die, that's my motto.

It's true Mark, he gave her a little R-E-S-P-E-C-T and a little TCB and she was Rollin on a River of happiness.

Ah Ned, What A Night that must have been, straight out of My Back Pages. I just have one question: did the Flying Purple People Eater really wear short shorts?

Ken, don't think twice, it's alright. The answer, my friend, is blowin' in the wind.

Normally I would comment using song titles, but everyone is already doing that so I just say I really liked it. Because I am difficult that way.

You sure captured "Time in a Bottle" here. On my other blog I use song titles to connect to every post. This was enjoyable and I'd love to swing dance right now, but I dont' think my hubba would appreciate being woken up!
