It doesn't matter anymore
it doesn't matter when
the words
the spilling
spread me
thin as onion skin
(the dry shed skin
the fragile wrapping)
un-veiled
un-dressed
un-known
changes)nothing(changes
So I leave it there
I can leave it on display
for the voyeur
uncomfortable
for the passerby
all the empty eyes)having(
no vacancy) filled
(I am not) here

What an adorable little undressing of the tender underskin of the muse! With coy unvelings of paranthetic layers revealing such modesty! I'm tickled to mirth.

Thank you Garnet. Your assessment pleases me greatly. I appreciate your appreciation and I know you know the unveiling of the poet when a poem speaks.

Well, I do darned well to be invisible and visible all at the same time. It's not easy, but truthfully, the invisible part is a tad harder. ;)
Thanks Glenni for your kind words and when I have completely vanished, I am leaving the blog to you. Re: Poemography

It’s good to come and find a place where poetry is appreciated. I feel somewhat skewered and singed this weekend in the poetry department. Mine has been loved and hated this weekend. With all that love our poetry why is it that the ‘hated’ is all we focus on and feel, or is it just me? Forgive my neglect of your site of late Ned. My apologies.

Mark, I didn't see anyone say they hated your poetry. I saw only good things, and you should too.
Now me... I am quite used to being hated and neglected. You can't be a Ned and write poetry and expect to be popular. I could post a lot of drivel and punchy posts and possibly punctuate it all by posting pics and puerile memes and potentially be popular. It's just not me. Ultimately you gotta do what you gotta do. I have a sort of caveat that I probably should just post as my motto: I have suffered for my poetry, now it's your turn. Re: Poemography

"I have suffered for my poetry, now it's your turn."
I love this! You should have it stitched into a throw pillow or couch doilie. Re: Poemography

Charming, blunt, playful, and appealing.
I also adore your quote "I have sufferred for my poetry, now it's your turn." Yes! Re: Poemography

I wish I were a more educated poetry reader, so I could leave you better comments than "I really like this, Ned!" over and over again, but I'm not, so
I really like this Ned! :-) Re: Re: Poemography

That's all I need to hear you say Alicia! Thanks. :)

The Poet is like an onion - because when you cut him, he makes you cry.
