I haven't been feeling very well, feverish in fact. In my febrile
state, I decided to write a sonnet, a Shakespearean sonnet. Well,
more like re-write a Shakespearean sonnet. This one. I am too sick to finish it.
In my delerium, I am blogging it. Please forgive me.
On sum'otha day, may I call you, June?
My homies tell me that you ain't that hot
Would I blow your mind if I speak too soon?
Rent falls due and you would stay, but cannot.

I like it, Ned, please finish it when you feel better (and I hope you feel better soon!)

Sorry to hear you're poorly, Ned. Take care and get well soon. Thinking of you. Old Will could write a bit, couldn't he?

Thanks to everyone for well wishes. Obviously, I was even sicker than I thought. But everyone should be allowed a tiny bit of lunacy on their own blog I think. It only got worse with the next entry.
Ken, Will was da man. I consider him the Bob Dylan of his time. I think of "bare ruined choirs where late the sweet birds sang" and can hear Dylan singing about the "haunted, frightened trees" and well, maybe I am still a bit feverish. That is one of my favorite sonnets. I suppose it's true, you always hurt the one you love. Oh well, Will's dead, he won't know. ;) |
The Poet is like an onion - because when you cut him, he makes you cry.
